Open water season is here – stay safe

Spring has arrived, and with that the start of open water swim season. However, the water can still be a bit on the cold side, which increases the risk of heart failure.

To minimize your risk, do a solid warm up on land to get the blood pumping. When you enter the water, do so slowly, and splash water in your face to allow the body to get used to the change.  Of course, you never swim alone…
